May 13, 2013 SFTC PICKS

Well, GoDaddy was undergoing maintenance with a lot of their domains so 27inarow.com was down for most of the day. I had no idea when the site would be working again since the representative at GoDaddy did not have an ETA. Since I did not even know if the site would be up for today’s picks, I stopped doing write-ups and just posted picks to avoid possibly wasting a ton of time. Anyway, good luck with picks today everyone and hopefully this post sees the light of day.

1. HJK (Low Streak): Odds- HJK: -133 Lahti Win/Draw: +110
HJK is picking up right where they left off last season, where they finished in 1st place with a 19-7-7 overall record and 7-2-7 road record. This season, they are 3-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 on the road. They have conceded just 4 goals in 5 matches. Lahti was 12-1-3 at home last year with 26 goals scored and 17 conceded. They no longer have their top 2 leading scorers from last year in Ngueukam and Shali who both had 7 goals a piece. Lahti is 1-2-1 so far this season with just 2 goals scored and 3 conceded. Lahti won 3-0 at home last season against HJK. I think HJK has too much offense for Lahti and will get the road win by a score of 2-1.

2. Indians (Low Streak/Confident): The Indians are -137 at home with Masterson on the mound against Phelps and the visiting Yankees. This is a matchup between 2 of the hottest teams in the MLB. The Yankees have won 5 straight and the Indians have won 8 of 10. Masterson has hit a few bumps in the road since his red hot start to the season. He is 5-2 with a 3.67 era and the Indians are 6-2 in his starts this season. He has a 3.00 era in 6 career starts against the Yankees. Phelps has been moved into the rotation for now and has allowed 6 runs in 11.2 innings as a starter this season. He was pretty effective in his 11 starts last season, but his road era was over 4 last year. I like Masterson and the red hot Indians at home.

4. Indians (Low Streak)
5. Real Sociedad (Low Streak)
6. Pirates (Low Streak)

11. Rangers (Low Streak)
12. Cubs (Low Streak)
13. White Sox (Low Streak)
14. No 10+ (Low Streak)
15. Grizzlies (Confident)
16. Diamondbacks (Low Streak)
17. Royals (Low Streak)
18. Athletics (Low Streak)
